Sounders FC announced today that it had chosen Venture General Contracting as the construction manager for the new Sounders FC Center at Longacres in Renton.
The site, which was announced earlier this year, sits at Boeing’s former corporate headquarters and will feature a “team-first” design built around the organization’s holistic needs, the release said. The site, which notably will be used as a resource during Seattle’s hosting stint for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, will encompass four full-sized training pitches and 50,000 square feet of space to accommodate both the organization’s soccer and business ecosystems.
Sounders FC chose Venture partially because of its commitment to social responsibility, the release said. The Seattle-based Venture reinvests its earnings back into Seattle and the region writ large.
In addition to working closely alongside Sounders FC to realize its vision, Venture also will be collaborating with Unico and sports design and architecture leader Generator Studio.
“We are incredibly honored to be a part of the team for the Sounders FC Center at Longacres,” Venture General Contractor partner Matt Parent said in the release. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to build a partnership with a local organization that we are huge fans of.”
